3D Movies

Since at least the 1950s, when studios released a blizzard of 3D Movies, technologists and artists have been fascinated by the challenge of creating a compelling 3D moving picture experience—in which the action on the screen extends beyond the surface of the screen and out into the audience.

3D Movies have caught the public's attention again, with viewers rushing to see everything from "Spy Kids 3-D" to James Cameron's "Ghosts of the Abyss." Marketing companies have also discovered the sizzle created by high-quality 3D films, as proven by the success of automotive supplier, Continental Teves' "Safely There" mobile exhibit.

3D Movies viewed without glasses are a very strange sight, resembling that hokey cartoon effect of a drunkard's point of view. The same scene is projected simultaneously from two different angles in two different colors, red and blue (or green). Here's where those cool glasses come in -- the colored filters separate the two different images so each image only enters one eye in these 3D Movies. Your brain puts the two pictures back together, and voila, you're dodging a flying meteor!  Sounds interesting? Yeah at least to me!

The features that make the games that are now available use the latest 3D engines to bring you the most realistic looking games and worlds. All this is possible through new chip design that is now available to all of us. The new thing everyone is interested in is playing 3D games with glasses or watching new 3D Movies with the new hardware and glasses that change any video format into a cool 3D.

First of all, IMAX is quality.  Each frame of the movie is nearly the size of the film used in a 4" by 5" camera.  The reel of film for the projector is so big it lays on a table.  The screen is the size of a basket ball court.  The sound system is always multi channel stereo from several CDs. It is reproduced through numerous speakers around the theater and from behind the screen. Sounds can appear to come from almost any source. And that’s the true beauty of all 3D Movies. Teens are always excited to wear those two colored glasses to view 3D Movies.

Stereoscopic photos and movies, popularly known as 3D, are made with two cameras, each recording an image for each eye. Consequently, true color stereo requires two projectors to shine on the screen. With a separate image for each eye, one can see depth.  Images 'float' right out of the screen in front of your face.

Advantages of 3D Movies:

Real Time ability of 3D Movies - One of the greatest advantages of 3D display is it's real time ability. So it is possible to display surgical operations, production flows or other applications requiring real time visualization without any delay.  This allows using our 3D display in fields where auto stereoscopic display had to be renounced until now, e.g. ophthalmic surgery. 3D video conferencing etc. and this technique is used extensively in all 3D Movies.

High Resolution of 3D Movies - The 3D display's high resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels guarantees a high quality output with a high contrast and an optimal color behavior. This enables a sharp visualization on a high level of detail and without straining the eyes. Therefore working with our 3D Display is more ergonomic than working with other auto-stereoscopic systems. Complex structures e.g. from CAD or molecular design can be visualized without losing details.

Brightness of 3D Movies - Since the principle of our 3D display is based on only two different views, brightness is not absorbed by stereo visualization. Almost all brightness of the TFT reaches the observer's eyes. The special optical characteristic guarantees brilliant and colorfast visualization with full luminance and without any falsification at all. Because details are shown much better, the eyestrain is prevented.

Ease of use of 3D Movies - The 'C' series of 3D monitor was designed with ease of set-up and ease of use from the outset. These monitors are truly 'plug 'n' play' coupled with the fact that providing suitable source imagery for them is probably the easiest and most varied in the industry for any 3D display. Allowing you to spend more time gaining the benefits or working in stereoscopic 3D, rather than creating it.
